Communications Studies major with a concentration in Creative Writing
This senior communication studies major gets her artistic fix with a creative writing minor. Writing has always been easy for Corinne, as well as something she deeply enjoys, making her an obvious choice for the Writing Team. A casual mention of her minor to a friend led her to apply for TAD, and now, as she says, “here we are!”
“I’m hoping to gain a better comprehension of how everything works in a business where you have to use your creative side,” she says, commenting on her goals for her time at TAD, “the ins and outs of everything.” A definite people person, Corinne is excited for the experience of working on a creative, collaborative team, which should help prepare her for her dream job at a public relations or advertising firm. While she wouldn’t object to continuing to write for a living, she sees herself acting as a middleman, helping to coordinate between clients and the firm. And, of course, she says laughingly, “not living on my parents’ dime!”
Corinne loves to watch Netflix and snuggle up in bed. Add in some sushi, and you’ve got her favorite activity! She also spends her free time hanging out with her boyfriend (and best friend), who she met in SCOM 350 right here at JMU. Reading and writing are, of course, a large part of her life. She got into the habit of keeping a journal over the summer as a way to encourage herself to write every day and push the limits of her creativity.
Fun fact: Corinne spent eight years living overseas in Japan and Germany as a child!

UPB Presents: The McCartney of All Concerts
All of the JMU community get involved in the selection and promotion of the UPB Fall and Spring UPB concerts. This year Jesse McCartney brought up all the nostalgia of middle school and a great show.
