Brooke Bailey is the newest edition to the Technology & Design team! As a web developer, Brooke has always had a passion for code. In her free time this summer she coded an online shopping cart from nothing–and then realized that she would probably have to code fake items to buy and put in her new shopping cart.
Brooke wasn’t necessarily looking for TAD but, “My mom actually emailed me the job listing and said I should apply so I did!”, she says. Having come to training week, all of Brooke’s expectations for TAD Training have been exceeded, “Honestly, I haven’t laughed this much at work ever.”
Brooke is thrilled to be a part of TAD and the work environment TAD creates. “Everyone is excited, and loves being collaborative and collected. TAD is a wonderful work environment and I’m more than excited to start.”
She hopes to learn more about student unions as a collective community. Brooke is uniquely positioned to experience the student and the professional side of the job in a marketing context. As the direct supervisor of the Web Development and Writing Teams, Brooke will be able to connect with the specialized roles that students and professional staff have in contributing to student unions.
When she’s not coding Brooke is an avid runner, “I just ran a half marathon and discovered an extra bone on my femur when I did…”
Brooke’s super cool fun fact is that her: “ultimate dream is to one day be a missionary in the Andes of Peru working with the Quechua people. I have been to a place called Ayacucho in Peru a total of five times. While I have been there I have had some really amazing experiences such as eating the traditional delicacy of Cuy (guinea pig), receiving traditional Quechua clothing that a Quechua woman made for me as a gift, and just learning about their culture so that I can be an advocate for them while I’m here in America.”
