- Graduating May 2019
Major: Computer Science
Hailing from Falls Church, Virginia, Avery Scarbrough was always interested in fiddling with computers. Now on the Web Development team, he enjoys picking up new skills and exploring the possibilities of mixing technical aspects of development and creative aspects of design to make new and compelling content.
A junior computer science major, Avery was introduced to TAD through web development team alumnus Miles Greatwood. Avery was attracted to the laid back work environment and the opportunity to work in teams and collaborate on projects. In the future, Avery hopes to break into one of the most rapidly growing niche industries in technology, cyber security.
A man of few words, Avery enjoys fishing and being active. His favorite place to cast a line is Sailfish Marina in Palm Beach, FL. It’s the marina where his favorite captain used to dock. He’s even sailed out and fished near a sunken ship far off the coast.
Fun fact: Avery almost died in the ocean in Hawaii once when he was young. He waded out a little too far from shore one night, and a heroic bystander jumped in to save him when he was swept away. We at TAD are all very happy that Avery did not, in fact, die that night.
