Our world needs people who can solve problems, improve relationships, and change communities. In short, our world needs leaders.
But not all of those leaders need to have formal, authoritative leadership positions to make a difference. Really, all it takes is someone with the right knowledge and the right skill to positively influence others to work together. And that can be anyone. That’s why we believe . . .
Everyone Can Lead!
In the Everyone Can Lead! program, you will experience four different live, virtual meetings and four unique, online, asynchronous learning modules. Together we will explore the critical concepts and key skills needed for using your own power and influence to:
- understand yourself better
- develop positive relationships
- create more effective teams
- learn the power of helping others
During the live, virtual meetings you will meet other participants, interactively engage in fun activities, as well as learn more about yourself and how to develop positive, productive relationships. The asynchronous learning modules can be completed on your own time, at your own pace and will be available starting on the date indicated in the schedule. Here’s the schedule for this 8-week experience:
- Mar 4, 6p – Intro to the Program & Who Are You
- Mar 11, 6p – Developing Positive Relationships
- Mar 18 – The Power of Personality (includes online assessment & report)
- Mar 25 – Knowing Your Strengths & Your Weaknesses (includes online assessment & report)
- Apr 1, 6p – Reconnect & Rebuild the Relationships
- Apr 8 – Acting Autonomously but Not Alone
- Apr 15 – Servant Leadership

At the end of the program, student participants will be given the opportunity to sign up for additional leadership development experiences like peer mentoring with an experienced JMU student leader and 1:1 Strengths Coaching with a highly trained student coach from the Student Leadership Center. It is hoped that a service-learning experience will also be offered for student participants to work together, though this will be dependent on circumstances and capabilities in the light of COVID-19.
To help us build a strong community for the program, as well as to minimize problems like “Zoom bombing” in our live, online, virtual meetings, advance registration is required. But that’s simple. Just complete the short form below and you’ll receive the online meeting details so you can join us.
Sign up by 5p, March 4th to get details in time to join us for the first meeting!
