Michael has been running and directing the DLC for the past ten years, ever since the Center first opened. He approves the budget, assigns students to programs and presentations, and supervises the professional staff and some of the student staff. For him, leadership is a personal and professional passion, and the Dux Leadership Center is an amazing way for him to bring this passion to JMU.
Michael’s favorite part of his job is working with students directly. He loves to see the students develop and grow their leadership skills in the DLC programs, and see some of them join the staff to help bring these skills to other students.
“I get to come to work and do what I love every day,” he said.
Outside of work, Michael likes to spend time with his family, which now includes seven grandchildren and one more on the way. He also does work within his church. Michael brings leadership to all parts of his life, and through the DLC he is able to share these skills with JMU students and staff.
