What exactly is Make Your Mark on Madison, or MYMOM?
The brand-new Spring MYMOM experience is a 7-week leadership development program for first-years, sophomores, and juniors. The goal of the program for every participant is to obtain a sense of belonging, start to become more self-aware, and to begin to recognize their innate ability for self-authorship. In short, it emphasizes every student’s ability to make a difference on campus.
What does a typical Monday night look like as a participant?
Every Monday night will start with an optional, but encourage, dinner with your leadership counselors (LCs). Then, at 7:30, we will have an external presenter that will introduce leadership topics like personal values, diversity, and difficult conversations to name a few. After the presentation, we will break off and have council time which will consist of discussions and activiteis led by your two LCs.
What is the commitment to be a participant?
- The following Monday nights are typical program nights that you will be expected to attend: 3/16, 3/23, 3/30, 4/6, 4/13, 4/20.
- Retreat: Friday, March 20th from 5-10 PM.
- Banquet: Monday, April 27th from 7-9 PM.
What is the participation application process?
The first step of the application process is to fill out the online application below by March 2nd at 5 PM! Then after that if you continue in the process, there will be interviews held March 3rd-5th. Space is limited, so make sure to get your application in!
