To help JMU students through the COVID-19 pandemic, Off-Campus Life has created on online ordering system for their signature Pop-Up Pantry. Students in the Harrisonburg area can fill out a digital form, place an order at the pantry, and pick it up curbside outside Festival. Placing an order is hassle-free and can be done in just a few minutes. To place an order:
- Find the order form on OCL’s website under the Pop-Up Pantry tab by clicking here. Students must have a valid JMU email address to place an order.
- Once your form is properly filled out, the item list should appear below your information. Select your items and the quantities of each before hitting the submit button.
- When you are ready to pick up your order, drive to the service loop outside Festival and call the number provided after you placed your order. Your order will be brought out to you. Students must present their JACards at pick-up to receive their order.
Curbside pick-up is available from 12 pm – 5:30 pm on Mondays and 12 pm – 4:30 pm on Wednesdays.
This service is available to all JMU students. OCL has stocked the pantry with mostly non-perishable goods, including cereal, pasta, rice, beans, canned fruits and vegetables, and more. OCL is working to add produce to the catalog in the coming weeks. OCL will be updating the online catalog as often as possible, but all orders are subject to the availability of the requested items. Currently, the service is expected to run until June 10th, but it is possible that the Pop-Up Pantry and curbside pick-up will be available through the summer months.
OCL also offers virtual office hours. Students can join a WebEx call with one of OCL’s student ambassadors to ask any and all questions they might have about housing or other essential resources in the community. Click here to see the dates and times these chats start.
