Do you have a knack for leadership, or maybe have the desire to make a difference in your community? If so, then make sure to check out the Student Leadership Center’s virtual Make Your Mark on Madison Open Night on September 14th at 7:00 pm, at the following Zoom link: https://zoom.us/j/97082222901
Make Your Mark on Madison, or MYMOM for short, is a ten-week program designed to teach students important leadership skills and help realize their potential to have a positive impact on their communities on and off campus. MYMOM offers students the opportunity to learn about critical thinking, discover their personal values, and unlock their own unique leadership styles to use well beyond their time at JMU
The program provides lots of opportunity for students to express themselves. As MYMOM directors Megan Moore and Sarah Welsch put it, the program, “provides a space for students to be their authentic selves and make deep connections that last beyond the MYMOM boundaries.”
September 14th’s online Open Night session will feature presentations about both MYMOM and the concept of leadership. The night will conclude with a discussion run by MYMOM’s Leadership Counselors. Students are encouraged to participate in the discussion, but if you’d prefer to sit and listen, that’s fine as well! As a reminder, the application to join MYMOM is due by September 14th at 10 pm.
