As spring approaches, we celebrate the return of warm weather, flowers, and leaves, but here at JMU we also celebrate the return of one of our most exciting yearly traditions: Madipalooza. Mark your calendars for Madipalooza 2020 on Saturday, April 25th starting at 1 PM. This free festival has occurred on Festival Lawn on East Campus in the past, but this year, unlike before, attendants can enjoy the event at Bridgeforth Stadium!
At Madipalooza, you can expect a great lineup of musicians that will be announced from Madipalooza’s social media (@Madipalooza) in the coming weeks. These musicians will come from a variety of different genres, so there’s something for everyone! One of the musical acts will be a local band selected at UPB’s Rumble Down Under, JMU’s Battle of the Bands. There will also be a wide range of activities and games throughout the day. On top of the great music, make sure to come out for the free food and free swag.
The fun will continue into the night with UPB’s Madipalooza After Dark, formerly the Spring Concert. This is the first time that UPB has teamed up with Madipalooza, so get ready for an even bigger and better event! Unlike Madipalooza (which is free for students), Madipalooza After Dark is a ticketed event. Tickets will go on sale after UPB reveals the artist around the end of March. The concert promises to be one of the most exciting things to happen on campus this semester, so lock down yours as soon as you can. Make sure to follow UPB on Instagram (@UPBJMU) and Twitter (@UPB) for updates!
Madipalooza and Madipalooza After Dark will both be excellent opportunities to make memories on campus. You won’t want to miss this full day of excitement!
