Human Resources minor
“Don’t live to work, work to live.” As words that senior Wes Horne lives by, it’s no wonder he chose JMU, where all the students seemed the happiest. It also felt the most like a home to Wes, who hails from Fulton, Maryland.
With a persistent interest in the reasons and motivations behind people’s actions, the decision to major in psychology was a no-brainer for Wes. For as long as he can remember, he has questioned the puzzle that is human behavior. He hopes to work with his passion right out of college with the aid of his Human Resources minor, eventually transitioning to a job working for National Geographic.
Wes found a passion in photography during high school, but with the heavy college course loads it began to take a backseat and drop off the map. So when Wes heard of the opportunity to work as a photographer at TAD, he jumped at the chance to bring art back into his life.
After his studies, work at TAD, and duties as a member of Lambda Chi Alpha, Wes has little free time, but spends that precious amount drawing and boating when he’s able. In adventures and pursuits both large and small, Wes constantly reminds himself not to let opportunities pass him by.
Fun fact – Wes studied abroad in Germany and Poland in order to study the ethnic conflict resulting from the Holocaust.
