Graphic Design major
Rachel discovered her knack for graphic design in high school as a member of Chantilly High School’s yearbook team. While working on the yearbook, she tested her skills in programs such as Adobe InDesign and Photoshop. Rachel’s passion for graphic design steadily grew as she continued to work on different projects.
However, like many artists with multiple talents, there was a time when she wanted to pursue interior architecture. In the end, Rachel chose graphic design because she was attracted to the creativity behind it.
“I love being able to experiment with different styles and techniques,” said Rachel on why she chose graphic design.
She frequently experiments with typography and calligraphy, and has recently added photography to her artistic arsenal.
TAD is thankful that Rachel stuck with graphic design and Rachel is excited to be a part of the team.
“I am eager to do client-based-work and be able to create something for someone that makes them happy,” she commented.
In the future, Rachel would like to be an art director for a magazine and have the opportunity to manage other artists as they collectively try to produce something creative and original.
Fun Fact: Rachel braves the outdoors as an intrepid hiker!
Be Balanced Brochure
“For Be Balanced, I was working with Xander to create a new brand for the client. Be Balanced stemmed out from Mad4U, and took over a lot of the mindfulness activities. For the typefaces, we chose Fira Sans and Garamond because of the clean, modern, and balanced feel they gave off.
