This self-taught web developer is not your average computer programmer. Mark Adkins’ interests range from computer coding, to hiking, to the immense galaxy we live in.
Mark has lived all around the US, including Texas, Florida and North Carolina. Though his early life was dynamic, his desire to learn and discover “what makes things work” remained present. It is this drive to problem solve that makes Mark such an excellent programmer.
Though he spends time on his computer and creating web content, Mark enjoys being outdoors. This Eagle Scout loves camping and hiking, particularly when he brings his hammock. He appreciates nature any time of the day, especially at night. “I have what is definitely an unhealthy obsession with outer space,” Mark admits. His father worked for NASA and their family lived only a short distance from Cape Canaveral, Florida, where space ships launched and ignited Mark’s imagination. “I love taking time lapse photos of the night sky.” Mark enjoys not only taking photos, but sharing them online with fellow photographers. This led to an interest in graphic design, videography, and ultimately, coding. “Web design is still where I can bring all of my interests together, and that is what excites me about web development at TAD.”
When he isn’t conquering mountains or creating web sites, Mark might be found leading the Marching Royal Dukes as a Drum Major.
Fun Fact: Mark is in love with Cheerwine soda
