Senior Kuk Joo is a man of many interests and talents; apt for one who had a diverse upbringing. Born in Korea, Kuk and his family moved to the United States when he was 12, and now call Richmond, Virginia their hometown.
Kuk was always interested in computers and web design, but wasn’t sure of the exact track he wanted to pursue, thus the major in SMAD and minor in Computer Information Systems. Yet his dream job since childhood has been to own a Korean food truck business with his sister. If his dream were to become a reality, Kuk would create the websites, logos, and advertisements for his Korean food truck business.
As a web developer for TAD, Kuk is excited to gain more experience working with the web and perhaps in the process find his niche in the industry. He hopes to test his boundaries and get out of his comfort zone in order to discover what aspects of web development and design most appeal to him.
Kuk’s interests vary from hip hop music and dancing, to reading comic books, to eating all types of food, but he is especially passionate about building and collecting gundams. A hobby that requires time and patience, gundams are robot figurines that are made up of interlocking pieces one must cut out and assemble, which can take several days to finish.
But when Kuk isn’t finishing his newest gundam, he’s staying in touch with his roots as a part of the Korean Christian Fellowship. Kuk is also a member of the Agape Christian Fellowship, where he’s found a close bond of brotherhood.
Fun fact: Kuk obtained a black belt in Martial Arts at the age of 11!
