Minors: German & Sociology
“I thrive on being super busy,” says Katja Wisch, a senior SMAD Digital Video and Cinema major and German and Sociology minor. Katja is a member of TAD’s Photography Team, and has been doing photography since she was in high school. She has directed photography for films, edited yearbook photos, and done her own photography for fun. She is glad to be adding to this experience at TAD.
Katja found out about TAD through Graphic Design Team member Isabella when because Isabella was applying. The two worked on Gardy Loo, an art magazine here at JMU, together. Once Katja discovered that fellow SMAD DVC major Devon was a TAD employee as well, she figured there might be a place for her at TAD too.
Within her major Katja has helped on many films, including one on the study away film program for JMU students in New York City. As if all of her film and photo work isn’t enough, Katja loves listening to music and has found a way to put her skills to use in that community as the videographer for WXJM Live, JMU’s radio station.
Fun fact: while living in Germany when she was younger, Katja picked up some skills on a unicycle.
Trick or Treat on the Row
Trick or Treat on the Row is a special way that Fraternity and Sorority Life can create an environment where young Harrisonburg kids can safely go trick or treating in a small, safe space. The Greek Life members can see more of the community they are a part of and the kids get the chance to meet and interact with the college students in their community.
