Each year fraternity men and sorority women come back to JMU early to serve the community by helping the freshmen move in. We take great pride in introducing the newest students to our campus and creating a welcoming environment.

FSLsigma nu

The Iota Delta Chapter of Sigma Nu was first colonized at JMU in 1972 by 13 members. We were then officially founded in 1974. There were 24 founding fathers and 4 new initiates that made up the Iota Delta Chapter, number 188. Since that time, the Iota Delta Chapter has grown into an extremely proud and active member of Sigma Nu and James Madison University. There have been over 600 brothers of Iota Delta who now live all over the country and are successful in many different fields.  We are proud to call ourselves James Madisonís longest running fraternity.

The Iota Delta Chapter of Sigma Nu is comprised of dedicated men looking to improve themselves through adherence to the principles of Love, Truth and Honor. We currently have close to 50 active brothers and over 600 alumni. The alumni and active chapters work hand in hand to promote the ideals of Sigma Nu and help each other in any way possible.

Currently, the chapter has members involved in the many teams, clubs and organizations on the JMU campus. We are also highly involved in Greek leadership by holding positions on the Inter-Fraternity Council.  The fraternity now resides in a beautiful three-story brick house, conveniently located within walking distance of the JMU Quad.

Our main events include our annual Hoops 4 Kids philanthropy, White Rose Formal, weekly intramurals, Homecoming, and Alumni Weekend.

We are currently searching for men looking to excel in a brotherhood founded on the tenets of Love, Truth, and Honor; and who are seeking to fulfill leadership positions in continuing a legacy of honor that is Sigma Nu. If you’re interested in learning more about our Chapter of Sigma Nu, please contact us for more information.
