On each college or university campus where two or more organizations of the National Panhellenic Conference (NPC) exist, a College Panhellenic Association is formed as an organization to govern all campus sorority activities. The College Panhellenic Association is comprised of every woman who is a member of a sorority. Its administrative body is the Panhellenic Council consisting of one delegate and one alternate delegate from each sorority and is led by the Panhellenic Executive Board. The Panhellenic Executive Board is made up of different women from a number of sororities within our community. The Panhellenic Executive Board leads bi-weekly meetings with the delegates from each sorority chapter to discuss events and issues happening within our Greek community and also provide programming and resources to better the JMU community as a whole.
While each individual sorority has a creed or motto that guides it members, the National Panhellenic Conference developed this values statement that guides the activities of all sororities at James Madison University.
We, as undergraduate members of women’s fraternities, stand for good scholarship, for guarding of good health, for maintenance of fine standards, and for serving, to the best of our ability, our college community. Cooperation for furthering fraternity life, in harmony with its best possibilities, is the ideal that shall guide our fraternity activities.
We, as Fraternity Women, stand for service through the development of character inspired by the close contact and deep friendship of individual fraternity and Panhellenic life. The opportunity for wide and wise human service, through mutual respect and helpfulness, is the tenet by which we strive to live.
