Delta Sigma Phi was founded in 1899 on the principle of all inclusive membership into the fraternity. That tradition has carried on for more than a century, as Delta Sigma Phi has helped young men become better leaders and better citizens. Brotherhood is a lifetime commitment to living our core values: Culture, Harmony, and Friendship. Our intention is not merely to develop a strong fraternity, but in addition, to challenge our members to make a difference in their communities and their world.
As Delta Sigs, we strive to better our community and university through efforts of community service, philanthropy, commitment to academics, participation in activities outside the organization, as well as providing healthy social outlets. Delta Sigma Phi members give back to their communities in a number of ways across the nation, but as an organization we have a national partnership with the American Red Cross. Chapters across the nation raise money for the American Red Cross through individual philanthropy efforts, however each year Delta Sig hosts a national Blood Drive, where all chapters across the nation set up blood drives on their respective campuses. It is through our commitment to service, philanthropy, and academics that Delta Sig is able to be regarded as one of the premiere men’s fraternities.
Delta Sigma Phi was founded in 2010 at James Madison University and chartered as the Iota Delta chapter in the spring of 2012 making it one of the fastest recorded chapters of Delta Sigma Phi to accomplish this feat. Currently we are seeking gentlemen to assist in continuing to build our legacy here at JMU. We strive to uphold our values of Culture, Harmony and Friendship that were laid down by our founders over 100 years ago and wish to continue our tradition of excellence here at James Madison University. If you are interested in becoming a member of our chapter please contact our officers listed below for more information.
