JMU Clubs and Organizations Rocked the Lower Turf

Student Activites and Involvement sponsored a successful Student Org Night August 31st on the UREC lower turf. Students, once again, flooded the booths—curious and interested in what clubs and organizations JMU offers.

The 147 booths exhibited each unique organization—providing an easy way, for first-years, especially, to see all JMU has to offer and how to get involved.

“We had over 80 people sign up for our info night!” said Elise Werner, a senior Management major and representative for the club Enactus—a club focused on community service and learning skills to become a potential business leader. “I’m happy with the amount of interest my club got,” said Werner.

Top 40 music set the high-energy event as attendees attacked the snacks table, stocked with soda and festive cupcakes with purple icing and gold sprinkles, provided by Dining Services.

“At first I was a bit overwhelmed,” said Torie Dann, a transfer sophomore Psychology major, “but once I figured out how to go about it, I enjoyed going to the different booths and discovering the possible clubs and organizations.”

Whether you’re interested in an organization relating to your major or as an avenue to meet new people—Student Org Night is the place to start.

Keep an eye out for the next Student Org Night in January! In the mean time, check out all the organizations offered at JMU at beinvolved.jmu.edu!
