A Magical Late Night Breakfast

Walking into Festival around 10:30pm-12am on Thursday, November 8th felt like you were entering a Disney movie. In reality, however, it was UPB’s Magical Kingdom Late Night Breakfast.

The event was high energy from the start as students crowded in. Everyone enjoyed a fourth meal and the reminiscing and reliving of childhood memories and dreams. “This ones got more energy,” remarked John Parker, a junior Geographic Science major on this years Late Night Breakfasts, “I like the fact that it’s about our childhoods.”

The dining staff started out strong, serving Mickey Mouse shaped pancakes for the first few minutes. Eventually, they had to switch to regular pancakes to keep up with the large influx of students. Hungry students were welcomed in intervals by dining staff that were feeling the Disney magic as well— singing along and dancing with the people in line.

On the Upper and Lower levels of Festival, students and staff all sang in unison as favorite Disney classics like “I’ll Make a Man Out of You,” “The Circle of Life,” “A Whole New World,” and many others played throughout the night. “I loved it. Everyone loves it. The songs are the best!” said Jenna Temple a junior Sociology major.

Attendees had the opportunity to play games, take pictures as Disney characters, jump on a castle moon bounce, and take part in many of the other usual games found at Late Night Breakfasts.

UPB hit the mark with the week's Disney theme, having events like the Mad Hatter Tea Party and Disney Karaoke along with the Magical Kingdom Late Night Breakfast. By the end of the Late Night Breakfast, freshman Dance Major Darian Payne excitedly exclaimed, “I think it’s the best theme ever invented and I hope they do it again.”
